SERGEI RACHMANINOV ALL-RUSSIAN OPEN COMPETITION

FOR VOCALISTS

REGULATIONS

1. FOUNDERS.

 

1. The Competition is founded by the Russian Public Interregional Organization "The Rachmaninov Society".

2. Co-Founders of the Competition could be any companies and organizations which are willing to take part in the organization of the Competition.

 

2. VOCAL COMPETITION IN THE SYSTEM OF THE SERGEI RACHMANINOV INTERNATIONAL COMPETITON.

The Sergei Rachmaninov All-Russian Vocal Competition was a part of the Second International Rachmaninov Competition in 1997 (Irina Arkhipova was the Chairwoman of jury).

In the future this Competiton could be International as well.

 

3.   THE COMPETITION'S ADMINISTRATION.

 

2.1.  The Competition is directed and managed by the Organizing Committee.

2.2.  The Organizing Committee is created by the President of the Rachmaninov Society and the Chairman of the Board of the Society. The Organizing Committee is comprised of Board members as well as eminent representatives of the music and business public.

2.3. The administrative and financial management is executed by the Competition's Director, who is either the Chairman of the Board of the Rachmaninov Society or any Board member.

2.4. The Organizing Committee must not exceed fifteen members.

 

4.  RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE.

 

4.1. The Organizing Committee has the right to:

 

4.1.1.  Appoint Jury members.

4.1.2.  Decide on the repertoire and the duration of rounds.

4.1.3. Invite an orchestra, a conductor and other musicians like accompanists, illustrators etc.

4.1.4. Decide on the location and time of the Competition.

 

4.2. The Organizing Committee is responsible for:

 

4.2.1. Arranging financial support of the Competition.

4.2.2. Arranging advertisement efforts and information support of the Competition.

4.2.3. Arranging the support of the Competition on the federal, municipal and

International levels.

 

 

 

 

5. THE COMPETITION'S REGULARITY AND LOCATION.

 

5.1. The Competition is held once in four years.

5.2 The Competition's location could be any city of Russia.

 

6. NOMINATIONS of the COMPETITION and CONDITIONS  of the  PARTICIPATION

 

The Competition is held for four groups of contestants:

6.1. First group: pupils of the special colleges of music (from 16 to 19 years of age);

6.2. Second group: students of high schools (from 18 to 25 years of age);

6.3. Third group: professional singers, artists of the opera and musical theatres (from 20to 40 years of age);

6.4. Fourth group: amateur singers (from 16 to 50 years of age).

 

The participants pay the entering fee to the Rachmaninov Society account and send the receipt together with  the application form .

 

 

7. AWARDS

7.1. First prize could not be devided.

7.2.Organization Committee announces six prizes for the first three groups:

First group:

First prize for the male contestant

First prize for the female contestant

Second prize for the male contestant

Second prize for the female contestant

Third prize for the male contestant

Third prize for the female contestant

 

Second group:

First prize for the male contestant

First prize for the female contestant

Second prize for the male contestant

Second prize for the female contestant

Third prize for the male contestant

Third prize for the female contestant

 

Third group:

First prize for the male contestant

First prize for the female contestant

Second prize for the male contestant

Second prize for the female contestant

Third prize for the male contestant

Third prize for the female contestant

 

 

7.3. For the fourth group’s participants there will be no prizes but only diplomas and gifts.

7.4.Special prizes could be announced by any private person, or company, or organization.

8.    THE COMPETITION’s RULES.

 

8.1. The competition terms and conditions are announced not later than 11 months before the Competition's opening date.

8.2. The list of participants is completed 4 months before the competition's opening date.

8.3. Should the Organizing Committee deem necessary to hold a pre-selection based on videotaped performances, applicants must submit their videotapes not later than 6 months before the Competition's opening date.

8.4. A pre-selection based on videotapes will not result in a reduction of the Competition's repertoire.

8.5. The contest is held in three rounds: two rounds of solo recitals and the final concert performance with the orchestra.

8.6. A pre-selection based on videotapes does not render the first round ineffective.

8.7. A half (50%) of the first round  participants are admitted to the second round.

8.8. 6 persons are admitted to the final.

8.9. The order of priority for the participants to perform  is determined by drawing lots and is valid till the end of the competition.  Changes in the order of priority are allowed only in extraordinary  cases on the decision of the jury.

 

8.10. The participants can’t change the duration of their announced program. Program less then 7 minutes shorter then announced in the application will not be estimated. Program more the 5 minutes longer then announced in the application could be interrupted.

8.11. The regulations for other disciplines will be announced specially.

 

9. THE JURY

9.1.The Competition Jury is appointed by the Organizing Committee. There is no Chairman of a jury.

9.2. Organizing Committee invites world famous musicians to the Competition’s jury.

9.3. Jury works under the JURY’S REGULATIONS.
