PROGRAMM

 

All pieces must be performed in original language and in original key. The order of performanceatwill.  Any piece could be performed only once except an aria for the final round as it shown in the programm  for groups  II &III.

Groups I & IV

First round

1. Compulsory piece:  Rachmaninov. Romance (by participant’s choice).

2. Aria from an opera of a Russian composer of XIX—ХХ c. (by participant’s choice).

Second round

1. Compulsory piece:  Rachmaninov. Romance, which was not performed at the first round (by participant’s choice).

2. Aria from an opera of a Russian composer of XIX—ХХ c., which was not performed at the first round (participant’s choice).
3. Aria from an Cantata or Oratorio of any composer, European or Russian, of any period (XVII—ХХ cc., by participant’s choice).

Groups II & III

First round (not more then 15 mimutes)

1. Compulsory piece:  Rachmaninov. Romance (by participant’s choice).

2. Aria from an opera of a Russian composer of XIX—ХХ c. (by participant’s choice).

 

Second round (not more then 20 mimutes)

1. Compulsory piece:  one aria , by participant’s choice,  from the operas:

For soprano:

Sergei Rachmaninov. Aleko (Zemphira), Francesca da Rimini (Francesca); Piotr Tchaikovsky. Evgeni Onegin (Tatiana), The Queen of Spades (Liza), Iolanta (Iolanta).

For mezzo soprano:

Tchaikovsky. Evgeni Onegin (Оlga), The Queen of Spades (D).

For tenor:

Sergei Rachmaninov. Aleko (Young Gipsy); Piotr Tchaikovsky. Evgeni Onegin (Lensky), The Queen of Spades (German), Iolanta (Wodemon).

For baritone:

Sergei Rachmaninov. Aleko (Aleko); Piotr Tchaikovsky. Evgeni Onegin (Онегин), The Queen of Spades (Tomsky, Eletsky).

For basso:

Sergei Rachmaninov. Aleko (The Old Man); Piotr Tchaikovsky. Evgeni Onegin (Gremin), Iolanta (King Rene).

2. Aria from an Cantata or Oratorio of any composer, European or Russian, of any period (XVII—ХХ cc., by participant’s choice).

3. Compulsory piece:  Sergei Rachmaninov. One Romance from the following:

For soprano:

Oh, Never Sing to Me Again, op. 4, №4; Oh, Don’t Be Sad, op. 14, №8

For mezzo soprano:

In the Silence of the Night, op. 4, №3; I Have Giv’n My Love, op. 8, №4

For tenor:

They answered, op. 21, №4; The Fragment from de Musset, op. 21, №6

For baritone:

Oh, No, I Beg You, Don't Go Away!, op. 4, №1; All Things Depart, op. 26, №15

For basso:

At the Gate of the Holy Abode, 1890; It's Time! op. 14, № 12

Third round

(with the symphony orchestra)

For soprano, mezzo soprano, tenor:

1. Compulsory piece: one aria, which was performed at the second round accompanied by piano.

2. One aria from the following operas (by participant’s choice):

Georges Bizet. Carmen

Giuseppe Verdi. La Traviata

Pietro Mascagni. Cavalleria rusticana

Ruggero Leoncavallo. Pagliacci

 

For basso:

1. Compulsory piece: S.Rachmaninov. Old man's aria from the opera "Aleko".

2. P.Tchaikovsky. One of the following arias: Gremin (Evgeni Onegin), King Rene (Iolanta).
